The Bali Gods were hungry.
The island was empty.
Volcanoes can clear out whores in a cat house in a jiffy, that’s for sure.
But the hotel prices didn’t go down.
High figures, when compared with elsewhere in Indonesia.
The Gods are flexible, but the Balinese are not.
They are accustomed to getting top dollar for their rooms. But they are in inflexible.
The rooms rates are the highest in the republic and with justification, Bali is the tourist destination. Don’t the posters and travelogues say so?
Borneo, on the Indonesian side, says the opposite.
The streets are clean, the roads are maintained, there’s an order you never see anywhere else in Indonesia, and THEY DON’T CHARGE high hotel fees.
I know where I’ll be taking my next holiday.
